STRESS-FREE and ANXIETY-FREE Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry may be excellent for you if:

  • You have dental anxiety.

  • A low pain threshold.

  • Have severe gag reflex.

  • Need extensive dental work done.

  • Have difficulty sitting still during dental procedures.

  • History of postponing dental care due to past dental experiences.

Laughing Gas (Nitrous Oxide)

Laughing gas is considered as the least invasive and can increase your comfort and help relieve your anxiety during dental treatment. After you’re comfortably seated a small breathing mask over your nose. We can control the amount of laughing gas you receive to make sure you enjoy ideal comfort and safety.

The effects of laughing gas wear off just minutes after we remove the gas, so you would be able to drive immediately following the dental appointment.

This method of sedation is ideal for people with busy schedule and still wants to accomplish comfort dentistry.

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is a technique used to help patients feel relaxed and calm during dental procedures. It involves taking a sedative medication by mouth an hour before the appointment. This helps reduce anxiety and may also create a sense of drowsiness. While patients remain awake and can respond to questions, they often feel more relaxed and less aware of the procedure while receiving dental treatments.

Oral sedation is generally safe, but it's essential for the dentist to evaluate the patient's medical history to determine the appropriate dosage and ensure it's suitable for their needs.

After the procedure, patients may require someone to drive them home, as the effects can linger hours onward.

This procedure may be recommended if you have had undesirable experiences with Nitrous Oxide, have Low pain-threshold, or have High dental anxiety.

Moderate (Conscious) I.V Sedation

In order to perform Sedation Dentistry, sedation dentists that qualify to perform IV sedation are required to undergo specialized trainings, licensing, and certifications, therefore many offices are not qualified to administer IV sedation.

At Intricate Dentistry we understand IV sedation is one of the most effective ways to comfort patients with extreme dental anxiety, our highly trained team will help send you into a state of deep relaxation, minimizing dental anxiety while performing your dental treatments.

Although you will remain conscious throughout the procedure, possible amnesia may occur while under the effect of the sedative, which means you might not remember anything while we perform the dental treatments.

I.V. sedation is extremely safe when carried out by our trained sedation dentist (Dr. Nguyen), and it will be adjusted to suit your needs while keeping you safe during your appointment.

Patients will need someone to drive them home, as the sedative effects can last for several hours.

This procedure is a great option for you if you have had previous undesirable experiences with Nitrous Oxide, Oral Sedation, Low pain-threshold, or Extreme dental anxiety.
